Andrew Reid & Partners (AR&P), the specialist UK based commissioning, design, and diagnostic consultancy that is part of the hurleypalmerflatt Group, has announced plans to focus on expansion in UAE, Qatar, and elsewhere in the Middle East.

The addition of an Andrew Reid & Partners FZ LLC office in Dubai Internet City (DiC) will enable the company to offer design management and commissioning engineering service in the region, building on the existing legacy and regional client base of AR&P’s recently recruited regional director, Steve Hawkins.

The 140 m² (1,500 ft²) office, which is headed by Marc Andrews, EMEA Director, will comprise an initial team of seven, working on a number of select commercial and specialist projects including the recently secured Midfield Terminal Complex at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Representing a key strategic opportunity to fully enter a dynamic market outside of London or Europe, the Dubai office also constitutes a 20 percent expansion in the total size of the AR&P operation.

Mike O’Mahony, Managing Director of AR&P said: “The masterplan for the World Expo 2020 in Dubai promises major investment in purpose built facilities and infrastructure for the mega event, equalling multiple opportunities for building services providers to become involved, and we feel this is the right time for us to be fully entering the market.

“Steve’s track record of working in the region on several major projects means that we’re coming with a significant degree of knowledge and experience, and we plan to build upon his legacy.  The hurleypalmerflatt business is also very active in Dubai and in Saudi Arabia, and we’re very keen to work with them on client and project opportunities in future”.

AR&P’s Dubai office opened July 2015.
