Helical makes six senior promotions, including appointing Rob Sims as chief investment officer (UK)

Helical, a central London development-focused real estate business, has announced six strategic promotions across its senior team, headlined by the appointment of Rob Sims to the newly created role of Chief Investment Officer. These appointments span the company's development, asset management and finance functions, reinforcing its organisational capabilities during a period of significant market opportunity.

Since joining Helical in 2018, Sims has played an instrumental role in delivering landmark development projects, including The JJ Mack Building at 33 Charterhouse Street, EC1 and 100 New Bridge Street, EC4, which recently secured a forward sale transaction valued at £333 million. In his expanded capacity, he will oversee new transaction execution, corporate structuring and investment analysis throughout the portfolio, bringing crucial strategic oversight as London's prime office market continues to bifurcate between best-in-class sustainable workspace and obsolescent stock.

The promotions include Matt Redgrove to Senior Development Executive, who will spearhead the ongoing development of 100 New Bridge Street and Brettenham House refurbishment; Fran Young to Senior Asset Manager after 12 years with the company; Lesley Dodd to Group Financial Controller following 13 years of service; Martin Bramhill to Head of Tax after joining in 2013; and Lucy Miller to Property and Finance Executive, where she will expand her responsibilities to include serviced office provision at The Bower.

"A commitment to investing in our people and platform has been a central underpin of our success over the years. Each and every one of the recently promoted individuals, with a combined 50 years' experience at Helical, are playing an important role in enabling us to deliver on our strategy, at what is a very exciting time to be developing and investing in the London commercial real estate market," said Matthew Bonning Snook, CEO of Helical.

This strategic leadership enhancement comes at a pivotal moment for institutional investors seeking exposure to London's resilient commercial sector, where Helical's forward-thinking development approach has positioned it advantageously in the ESG-driven flight to quality. With development funding becoming increasingly selective, the company's strengthened senior team signals confidence to potential capital partners at a time when expertise in navigating complex urban regeneration projects carries premium value.
