STRABAG Property and Facility Services (STRABAG PFS) has been awarded a major contract by the German air-traffic control body DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH. The industrial and real estate service provider is taking on the entire technical facility management for the DFS headquarters in Langen near Frankfurt, including all administrative buildings, the control centre, the DFS Academy and the research, technology and logistics centre. The contract also covers the north and south tower at Frankfurt Airport, the tower at Saarbrücken Airport and other air-traffic signal masts and radar systems in Hesse, south-western Germany and Saarland.
The agreed services include operation, warranty tracking, inspection, maintenance, repair and a secure energy supply, including the management of emergency power systems for complex and redundant supply systems such as alarm systems, building automation, air conditioning and refrigeration technology.
The contract was concluded for at least three years with an extension option. This followed from a bidding procedure with two lots in which STRABAG PFS won out. The parties have agreed not to disclose the volume of the order.
Throughout Germany, STRABAG PFS now manages a total of more than 140 properties and towers for DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung.
“We always see follow-up orders from existing customers as a sign of recognition and confirmation of the good performance of our teams. The DFS contract also underscores our claim to be the leading high-quality service provider for highly sensitive technical systems and industries in Germany,” said the chairman of the management board of STRABAG PFS, Martin Schenk.
