One of the Nordic region's largest construction companies NCC, has appointed Katarina Wilson as its new Chief Financial Officer. Wilson, who will succeed outgoing CFO Susanne Lithander upon her retirement, is set to take up the role by 1 June 2026 at the latest and will join the company's Senior Management Team.
The appointment comes at a pivotal time for the Stockholm-based construction group, which generated approximately €5.6bn in revenue in 2024 and employed 11,800 people. The CFO transition signals NCC's strategic focus on financial discipline as it navigates a complex Nordic construction market, where infrastructure investment cycles and green transition projects are reshaping capital allocation priorities. For investors, Wilson's dual expertise in financial control and operational efficiency, gained from leading complex multi-site organisations, positions NCC to optimise margins across its diverse portfolio spanning building contracting, infrastructure projects, asphalt production, and commercial property development.
Wilson currently serves as Deputy CEO and COO at AcadeMedia, northern Europe's largest education company AcadeMedia, where she previously held CFO and Head of Group Finance and Business Control positions. Her earlier career includes serving as Director of Group Business Control at Husqvarna, alongside various controller and finance roles at Johnson & Johnson and Electrolux. She holds an MSc in Materials Science from the Royal Institute of Technology and an MBA from Warwick Business School.
"We are delighted to welcome Katarina to NCC. She has a solid background in financial control and business development, which will play a crucial role in NCC's continued development. I would also like to take this opportunity to extend my deepest gratitude to Susanne for her significant efforts since 2018, both as CFO and as Head of Finance & IT," said Tomas Carlsson, CEO of NCC.
"I very much look forward to joining NCC and helping to move the company forward. NCC is in an exciting phase as an industry leader, and I hope that my background in both finance and business control can help to further advance the Group's positions," Wilson commented.
Lithander will maintain the CFO role until NCC publishes its second-quarter 2026 interim report, after which she will continue leading development and IT functions within the organisation.
