VORM hands over Fibonacci resi project in Amsterdam (NL)

VORM, real estate company Rockfield, housing corporation Stadgenoot and the municipality of Amsterdam handed over Fibonacci residential project. The building consists of 49 social and 194 medium-priced rental homes.

The location, functions and layout of the development contribute to the formation of a residential community. The Cohesion Housing Concept has a shared living room, sports and laundry room and a community manager in the building. Residents can also share items, such as a vacuum cleaner or printer.

Edvard van Luijn of Rockfield: "In the development and realization of Fibonacci, the living environment and the creation of a community were central. In addition to the sustainable apartments, the residential building is equipped with The Cohesion housing concept with various communal areas and the community manager organizes events to strengthen the social aspect of residents. Fibonacci fits perfectly with the current portfolio of Rockfield and its investors to realize affordable and high-quality housing with an appropriate housing concept for the target group of Young Professionals. Since 1 July, the 350 enthusiastic tenants have been living, staying, working and exercising together in Fibonacci. The collaboration and the provision of facilities for tenants together with the housing corporation Stadgenoot in one building is also unique. We've never done that before."

Egbert Dekker, Director of Real Estate and Development at Stadgenoot: "Fibonacci is truly a project to be proud of. We show that we are there for everyone. So also for young starters who are looking for their first home. In addition, with these 49 extra homes, we are making the waiting list for social housing a little shorter. I am very enthusiastic about the form of cohabitation. It fits well with our wish that our tenants and their neighbours feel connected and work together to create a pleasant place to live. I wish the new residents of Fibonacci a lot of fun living together."

The homes in Fibonacci offer affordable, sustainable living with A+++ energy-rated houses, a green roof garden for water storage, and nature-inclusive features like nesting opportunities for various bird species. The building's ready-to-use building elements, including bathrooms, saved time during construction, reduced costs, and lowered environmental impact by reducing waste and transport emissions.

Hans Meurs, CEO of VORM: "Fibonacci has made a major contribution to the City of Amsterdam's ambition to build affordable housing faster. A social task to which we have an immediate answer. With VORM 2050, one of VORM's production companies, we want to bring about change in the housing market together with our partners. We think in terms of prefabrication and are working on further standardizing the entire process. This will allow us to create 20% more affordable homes and go 50% faster."

VORM, Stadgenoot and Rockfield would like to thank Diederendirrix, Groosman architects, and all partners, stakeholders and the project team for their dedication to achieving this important milestone.
