Property investment company Sponda Plc will launch a new kind of user-powered service concept, unique in Finland, at Pieni Roobertinkatu 9 in Helsinki.
Mothership of Work (MOW) is a co-working space for freelancers and businesses. MOW's versatile facilities and services were developed in cooperation with the target group and to cater the users' needs, adding convenience to working and strengthening communality.
“Ambitious independent professionals need the support of a community and services, which will make daily work easier. Mothership of Work is a concept fully tailored to this group, which important for the Finnish economy,” says Pia Arrhenius, SVP, Corporate Planning and IR, at Sponda. “We wanted to create a service concept, which is not only simple and flexible but also communal and serves the needs of this group,” Arrhenius adds.
Mothership of Work will provide the tenant with a workspace as well as various services designed to make everyday work easier and which are included in the rent. The residents are also served by a MOW Host, who ensures a pleasant ambience and helps residents to move in, get settled and get to know each other. MOW's services and activities will be developed in cooperation with the residents.
No rent deposit is required at MOW, and the term of notice of the lease agreement is one month.
The total area of the six-storey building is over 2,000 m², with different kinds of open spaces, a library, café-style lounges as well as private project spaces and offices. Restaurateur Kim Heiniö will open a new restaurant on the ground floor of the building.
MOW offers modern technology in terms of both professional presentations and building services engineering. The MOW mobile application for members facilitates interaction between residents and helps work and suitable resources find each other.
“The transformation of working life is changing the ways people work. Therefore, co-working spaces are being established worldwide. In Finland, such spaces have been rare in this scope before Mothership of Work,” Arrhenius says.
The concept was designed by Sponda in co-operation with Plus One Agency, which specialises in building new product and services concepts and finding business opportunities.
The space will opened at the beginning of February 2016 at Pieni Roobertinkatu 9.
