Colliers strengthens EMEA leadership with finance veteran to fuel growth and investor alignment
Colliers has named Stephen Eshelby as Chief Financial Officer for its EMEA Occupier Services business, a move seen as a strategic play to sharpen its financial discipline and scale its platform amid growing investor interest in pan-European occupier demand.
Bringing more than two decades of leadership in real estate finance and operations, Eshelby previously held senior positions at JLL, where he helped transform regional business units, and most recently guided a family-owned property firm through volatile markets, delivering award-winning urban projects. His appointment reflects Colliers’ intent to blend institutional-grade execution with entrepreneurial agility—an attractive signal to developers and investors seeking stable returns in uncertain times.
“Stephen’s track record of delivering results in complex environments, coupled with his people-focused and commercially astute leadership style, will be invaluable as we build on our momentum and drive the next phase of growth for Occupier Services in EMEA,” said Andrew Hallissey, Chief Executive Officer, Occupier Services | Global & EMEA at Colliers.
Eshelby’s entry into the role also comes as multinational occupiers increasingly look to consolidate their footprint, with heightened demand for smart, flexible spaces above 10,000 m² in prime city clusters. His role will involve aligning financial strategy with client needs, performance metrics, and ESG mandates—an area where investors are ramping up scrutiny.
While the occupier market faces macroeconomic headwinds, Colliers is positioning itself to capture value by unlocking operational efficiencies and leveraging data-driven insights across its services. With a focus on regional portfolio integration and capital advisory, Eshelby is expected to play a central role in enhancing the firm's responsiveness to investor and tenant expectations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
This appointment signals a broader shift in the commercial real estate landscape, where the convergence of capital, operations, and sustainability is rewriting what success looks like for occupier service platforms.
