Playmobil is set for a festive celebration as it opens the doors to its first and only PLAYMOBIL-FunStore in Austria on 17 December, following finalisation of contracts between Germany's biggest toy producer geobra Brandstätter and SES Spar European Shopping Centers.
The 108m² store will move into SCS in Vösendorf on the first floor between entrance 6 and 7 and supplement the center's toy segment. As joint owner of SCS, SES Spar European Shopping Centers operates and leases some 20% of Shopping City Süd in Vösendorf.
The FunStore will offer the complete PLAYMOBIL assortment of more than 30 play themes as well as exclusive add-ons and accessories. In addition to the wide range and comprehensive advice there will be two special highlights for young visitors: kids will enjoy the play table with current PLAYMOBIL novelties and will be able to assemble their very own individual PLAYMOBIL figures using the figure-making machine.
“With SES as partner and shopping center market leader, we have been able to realize our wish for a location in the Vienna area. We want to strengthen the direct dialog with our consumers from December on with our wide product range, attractive presentation and activities offered for children,” said Philip Heimer, responsible for PLAYMOBIL-FunStores at geobra Brandstätter Stiftung & Co. KG, about the concept and the decision to operate an own store in Austria.
The globally renowned brand PLAYMOBIL is sold in about 100 countries, primarily through trade partners. geobra Brandstätter itself runs seven FunStores in Germany. The new shop in Vienna-Vösendorf will be the second store abroad, after Madrid in Spain.
“SES is delighted, together with partner PLAYMOBIL, once again to have brought a new brand store to Austria. Commercial locations have their fingers on the pulse of the time when they can differentiate themselves from others with their shop mix and offer something special. This is successful when one continually introduces brand name novelties. For this reason our leasing experts occupy themselves daily with future trends and consumer wishes. A factor in our favor is the development that more and more brand name businesses want to strengthen their brand presentation with their own store,” explained Marcus Wild, SES-CEO, the strategy from the view point of the shopping center operator.
