Lendlease to build €176m events hub in Gateshead (GB)

Lendlease is to build a c. €175.7m events hub in Gateshead. The conference complex is the first phase of the delayed c. €410m Sage development which will also include an arena and new hotel. 

 

Councillors last month approved revised plans for the broader redevelopment of this part of the south bank of the River Tyne and Lendlease will start main construction later this year.

 

The conference centre, set to be operated by ASM Global, will include 5,720m2 of exhibition space, 2,520m2 of adaptable meeting space, 17 conference rooms and a banqueting suite.

 

Designed by HOK Architects the project team also includes planning consultants Lichfields, engineers Cundall, QS Core Five, Planit-IE, Crowd DynamicsVectos and MEP consultants Desco.

The conference centre is scheduled to open in 2025.
