Deka Immobilien GmbH has purchased The Bank in Amsterdam for a price of approximately €275m. The mixed-use property is being acquired for the portfolio of the open-ended real estate mutual fund Deka-ImmobilienEuropa. The property was sold by a Dutch family office.

This historical property is located in the city centre of Amsterdam, was completely renovated over 2006 to 2011, and offers approximately 26,000m² of office space, 5,250m² of retail space and 110 parking spaces in an underground car park. The Bank was built in 1926 by architects Ouëndag, with the assistance of Berlage.

The quality and size of the space available give this iconic property a unique selling point. Several prestigious tenants are located here, including Booking.com’s group headquarters, Guerilla Games and BNP Paribas. The property is fully leased.

The purchase of this property allows the management of the fund to add a top European capital city property to Deka-ImmobilienEuropa’s portfolio in accordance with its strategy for the fund.
