AYD/TCSC - TURKISH COUNCIL OF SHOPPING CENTERS

AYD/TCSC is the representative of the Turkish shopping center industry. In December 2008, the Turkish Council of Shopping Centers (AYD) was created by 16 founding members with the purpose of supporting the Turkish retail industry through the difficult times brought about by the global financial crisis. Through a union of powers, this number has now reached 205 members.

AYD’s members currently run a total of 108 operational shopping centers, representing more than 60% of the industry in terms of GLA.

AYD’s vision is focused on creating shopping centers which blend seamlessly with the city and the community, allowing consumers to enjoy a pleasant shopping experience, as well as adding value to the Turkish retail industry and raising it to the level of global standards.

AYD’s mission is to contribute to the healthy development of the retail industry along with retailers, consumers and industrial solution partners. The Council’s main mission and targets are as follows:


To act as the responsible leader for the shopping center sector

  • • To represent the industry in legislative studies with governmental and local authorities
  • • To encourage standardization 
  • • To offer training (management, marketing, law) 
  • • To supply reliable information to the industry by conducting customer surveys 
  • • To issue and publish a monthly Shopping Center Index (turnover, footfall) 
 

To contribute to the development of the retail sector
 

  • • To work out projects that could help increase the efficiency-bythe-square-meter in shopping centers
  • • To organize training courses for shops and stores on a center-by-center basis
  • • To encourage new and successful retailers


To represent the industry in various platforms
 

  • • To cooperate with national and international organizations and the public.
