Sanderson Weatherall acquires BDG Sparkes Porter to capture rising investor demand in resilient West End office market

Sanderson Weatherall boosts London agency with BDG Sparkes Porter acquisition

In a strategic move to deepen its presence in the UK’s most resilient office market, Sanderson Weatherall, the Leeds-headquartered property consultancy, has acquired long-established West End specialist BDG Sparkes Porter. The acquisition expands Sanderson Weatherall’s London footprint significantly, enhancing its City office and unlocking valuable expertise in the West End’s dynamic office and investment sectors.

The deal brings seven seasoned agents into Sanderson Weatherall’s fold, recognised not only for their extensive transactional experience but also for their market-leading research on London’s West End submarkets. BDG Sparkes Porter has operated at the heart of London’s office scene for three decades, advising occupiers and investors on high-value commercial spaces ranging from boutique investments to prime-grade office assets exceeding 10,000 m².

“This acquisition strengthens our agency and capital markets presence in London, particularly in one of the UK’s most resilient office markets,” said David Rastrick, chief operating officer at Sanderson Weatherall. “It also enables us to expand our client base and further broaden the range of services and knowledge we can offer stakeholders with property interests and assets in the capital.”

The timing of the acquisition is notable. London's West End office market is seeing rising occupier activity, increasing prime rents, and growing investor interest, despite economic headwinds. “The West End office market is experiencing robust growth driven by increased occupier activity and rising prime rents,” added Richard Dunn, head of agency at Sanderson Weatherall. “Investment volumes are also rising and with improved occupier sentiment, this is a great time to expand our agency offering in the capital.”

The addition of Greg Porter, Ross Blanchflower, and James Harrison as shareholding partners further solidifies Sanderson Weatherall’s ambitions. “Joining Sanderson Weatherall, a nationally recognised and B Corp-certified firm, unlocks significant growth potential and enables us to deliver enhanced services to our clients,” said Porter. “We are committed to continuing our sector specialist roles in the West End.” For investors and developers, this expansion signals an increasingly competitive market where insight and access to active submarkets could determine success, especially as prime yields begin to compress again in key zones.
