Vasakronan has announced that it has agreed to purchase the entire Blåmannen, Klara Zenit, block from Commerz Real for 485 million (SEK 4.35 billion). The property is located in central Stockholm and is enclosed by the Klara Norra Kyrkogata, Mäster Samuelsgatan, Bryggargatan and Drottninggatan streets.

Commenting on the acquisition, Fredrik Wirdenius, CEO of Vasakronan, says: "This represents a significant addition to our portfolio. The standard and prime location of the property, with the office entrance from Mäster Samuelsgatan and retail premises facing the shopping street of Drottninggatan, strengthen our offering in a part of the city that we consider to have enormous potential."
Vasakronan has a significant property portfolio in Stockholm, which, including the purchase of Blåmannen 20, comprises slightly more than 1.9 million m² and represents a property value of SEK 53 billion. During 2010, Vasakronan has sold residential properties for more than SEK 5 billion and bought office and retail properties for a corresponding amount.
Lars Johnsson, Executive Vice President and Head of Investments at Vasakronan says: "With several major transactions and a turnover totaling more than SEK 11 billion, 2010 has been an intense year for Vasakronan. There will be a break over Christmas, but I believe 2011 will be very interesting year in the property market."
Jones Lang LaSalle acted as Vasakronan's advisor throughout the process.
