The retail property specialist Prelios Immobilien Management has concluded further leases for the Galerie Neustädter Tor shopping centre in Giessen for a total volume of around 5,000 m² of rental space. A lease for more than 2,500 m² of rental space on the second floor was concluded with the expanding Essen-based fitness provider FitX. In addition to access through the shopping centre, FitX will open another separate entrance, provisionally at the end of 2017. The department store Woolworth, which sells products for day-to-day needs, has also signed a long-term lease for approximately 1,300 m² of rental space, and is expected to open its new outlet on the first floor in the fourth quarter of 2018.
The nationally known crafts and hobby retailer Bastler Zentrale is expanding its area to around 1,000 m² and is now located on a single floor next to the electronics store Media Markt. Bastler Zentrale has already opened its new space.
Fabiola Peiniger, Centre Manager at Galerie Neustädter Tor, commented, “We are delighted by the leases as the concepts are a great fit for our shopping centre and an excellent match for the demand profile in Giessen. In FitX Giessen is getting a contemporary, service-oriented fitness provider that offers appealing value for money and individual consulting by personal fitness trainers. With more than 250,000 items, Bastler Zentrale is an established factor in Giessen and is known at a national level. Its previous areas were too small and split over two levels. We were able to find the right solution here thanks to a close dialogue.” Peiniger went on, “We are also gaining an attractive tenant in Woolworth, whose range of goods is an ideal addition to the shopping centre. The leases are a testament to our great efforts and success in keeping the shopping centre on course. We are engaged in very advanced negotiations with other tenants.”
