Panattoni Europe, Poland’s leader in industrial space, confirms its market standing. The developer is working on a project to build a warehouse facility for Amazon totalling 161,500m² of space. The cutting-edge fulfilment centre dedicated to e-commerce will be erected in Kołbaskowo, near Szczecin. Completion of the entire investment is planned for September 2017.

Panattoni Europe’s fourth project for Amazon. Having completed two facilities in Poland, near Poznań and Wrocław, and one in the Czech Republic, the developer is now building another fulfilment centre for Amazon near Szczecin. The investment totalling 161,500m² will be erected on a 29-hectare site in Kołbaskowo. The first phase of construction involves top soil stripping and archeological works. Within the next month bulk excavations and foundation works will take place. Additionally, the developer will realize 7,800m² of road infrastructure, including a double roundabout, which will be incorporated in the existing Kolbaskowo junction, on the exit from the A6 motorway. The value of the investment accounts for €95m (PLN 410m) and completion is planned for September 2017.

Amazon’s decision to build another order fulfilment centre is dictated by factors including the growing demand for its services among customers from Poland and all of Europe. For this reason, within 3 years after launching the centre more than a thousand full-time jobs will be created here, including a number of management positions. And recruitment starts from the top – high-class specialists in IT, finance, HR, logistics, and engineering are the most sought-after. Execution of order fulfilment processes will be supported by innovative technologies, including Amazon Robotics.

“The fact that Amazon commissions Panattoni Europe to develop one of the world’s most advanced logistics centres, gives cause for pride. Our region yet again proves to be capable of taking on such a great and important undertaking” – said Robert Dobrzycki, Chief Executive Officer Europe, Panattoni Europe, adding: “The excellent connections to the rest of Western Europe, make Northern Poland, and particularly Szczecin, a place of keen interest to international investors. Now that interest is bound to get even stronger, due to this exceptional project for Amazon, the online retail giant.”

The facility for Amazon will be developed in Kołbaskowo, approx. 12 km from Szczecin city centre and as little as 230m from the Kołbaskowo Junction on the A6 motorway.
