Northern Horizon invests €25m in Swedish retirement home

Skanska has sold the retirement home Villa Brogarden in Alingsas, Sweden, for about €25m (SEK 260m). The buyer is Northern Horizon. With its 80 apartments, Villa Brogarden will be five storeys high with a total area of just over 5,300m². A lease agreement has been signed with Vardaga, which will be responsible for the operation of the retirement home.

 

The retirement home, which is being developed and built by Skanska Sweden, has high sustainability requirements. The ambition is that the energy consumption will be 80% below the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's guidelines. In addition to LEED certification, level Gold, which aims at the environmentally friendly design, operation, production and maintenance, investments are made in solar cells on the roof and geothermal heating. Construction work has begun and will be completed during the first quarter of 2022.
