McArthurGlen has completed its new village project located in Douains, near Giverny. Under a promising sun, the premium destocking shopping center has opened its doors to several hundred onlookers. Comprising 20,000m², the village features a hundred shops and ten catering outlets, organized around a vast central square connected to peripheral alleys.
“It’s a great moment, which we’ve imagined since 1995. It’s certainly a record of patience for our company! It was a difficult course, with obstacles, but we are proud today to open this village of brand and this high-end luxury tourist pole”, commented Mike Natas, director of development of McArthurGlen, during an inauguration ceremony that brought together elected officials, marching band and dancers.
The British group has invested circa €200m in building the now-called “McArthurGlen Paris-Giverny”. To mark the completion the group also installed a 42-meter-high Ferris wheel.
