Neckermann.com physical stores in the Netherlands and in Belgium were declared bankrupt recently by the courts of the Netherlands.
The bankruptcy concerns Neckermann.com Retail BV, which is responsible for Neckermann's physical stores in the Netherlands and in Belgium. 15 Belgian employees may lose their jobs after the collapse.
In the Netherlands Neckermann.com has eight stores in Almelo, Hengelo, Ede, Zutphen, Dordrecht, Delft, Meppel and Emmen. In Belgium, the company has shops in Geel, Schelle and Stekene. Neckermann had opened 15 stores a year ago.
Neckermann opened the stores in order to steer a so-called omni-channel strategy. The bricks and mortar stores complement online efforts with click-and-collect options.
