MASTERBUILD has completed construction on a new shopping centre in Pitesti, developed by Square 7 Properties in partnership with Mitiska REIM. The investment totalled over €19m2. The new Pitesti Shopping Park, situated in the northern area of Pitesti, spans a total leasable area of 24,000m2.
Located on Nicolae Balcescu Boulevard, the shopping centre serves a population of c. 150,000 residents from Pitesti and surrounding areas. It is divided into two main sections: a DIY and construction zone and a retail gallery.
The DIY and construction area hosts the first Leroy Merlin store in Pitesti, with a total area of over 9,782m2, offering a wide range of products and services for renovation and home improvement projects.
The retail gallery, covering more than 6,648m2, includes a mix of prominent retail brands, such as Tedi, Takko Fashion, Dr. Max pharmacy, Fressnapf, Sinsay, Xpress, Pepco, and a food court area, with Burger King as the main tenant.
The new shopping centre boasts a total built area exceeding 17,000m2, alongside more than 20,800m2 of roads, platforms, and parking spaces, as well as 5,023m2 of green areas. MASTERBUILD managed the entire project coordination and served as the general contractor. Construction was completed and delivered in under 12 months, with the new retail park now officially open to the public.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with the professional team at Square 7, experts in retail development, with whom we share a common vision: to create high-quality, sustainable commercial spaces that are not just new shopping destinations but also bring real added value to the community and become vibrant centres integrated into city life,” said Stefan Ferdinand Vayna, CEO of MASTERBUILD General Contractor & Property Developer.
