Kam Lei Fong plans to transform Warwick Mill into resi project (GB)

Kam Lei Fong has lodged plans with Rochdale Council to convert the derelict grade-II listed Warwick cotton mill into over 280 flats.

GMA Architecture has designed the plan to convert the historic mill in Middleton. It will also include a new 10-storey build block alongside the Victorian mill that will accommodate around half the planned new flats.WSP is advising Kam Lei Fong on its proposals, which also include a rooftop extension, space for a new restaurant in the old engine room, a gym and a function room for weddings and conferences.

A 1960s London House building will be demolished alongside the mill to create space for a new 10-storey apartment block. The proposal plays a crucial part in revitalising and delivering new homes on brownfield land at the edge of the town centre as set out in the Middleton town centre masterplan.

Construction is expected to take around 24-36 months.
