A celebration was held on the 16th of September at Verdion Logistics Park Malmö, the 20 acre (8 hectare) logistics site in Malmo, Southern Sweden, attended by BMW, the Staffanstorp Municipality and members of the Verdion team from London, Dusseldorf and the newly opened Malmo office.

Verdion is investing €20m into the development of this new built-to-suit, Grade A logistics facility which will be used to store and distribute car and motorcycle parts. Construction is due to complete at end of May 2017.

Verdion CEO, Michael Hughes, comments: “It’s a pleasure to be here today to celebrate the start of construction of this strategic logistics facility. I would like to thank the BMW team for entrusting us to be their development and investment partners and to all local stakeholders for helping us with the project.”

“The event follows the opening of our new Swedish headquarters in Malmo, bringing together our experienced platform in Scandinavia, reinforcing our confidence in the Nordic market.”

Verdion Logistics Park Malmö is located just outside Malmo City on the edge of the town of Staffanstorp. Positioned at a junction of Highway 11, the site has a direct connection to Malmö and Copenhagen, as well as other Swedish and European cities.

Christian Sonesson, Mayor of Staffanstorp, says: ”We see a bright future for our region and are happy that BMW and Verdion have also seen the advantages of Staffanstorp – not least the fantastic geographical location and the availability of skilled labour. We celebrate today this new development that will bring many new jobs to Staffanstorp and we look forward to a strong, ongoing international working relationship with Verdion and BMW.”
