Verdion, Europe’s specialist logistics developer and investor, has secured the pre let of 273,200 ft² (approx. 25,381 m²) to Derby Cycle Werke GmbH, for a new €15 mln logistics facility in Cloppenburg, Germany.
As Germany’s largest bicycle manufacturer and one of Europe’s leading bicycle companies, Derby Cycle is a subsidiary of Dutch conglomerate Pon Holdings, the international trading and service company that employs almost 13,000 people across 32 countries.
The new Grade A warehouse facility, located in Cloppenburg in Lower Saxony, will store some 150,000 bicycles, reflecting Derby Cycle’s successful business growth in its European markets. The Company is both a leader in E-bikes and a manufacturer of many well-known premium bike brands, including Kalkhoff, Focus, Raleigh, Univega, Rixe, and Cervélo.
The new facility will be located on Ecopark, an established logistics area close to the E323 and A1 highways, within 65 km of both Bremen and Osnabrück.
Construction work has started and completion is scheduled for Q1 2016.
