Queensberry Real Estate has been formally instructed by Meyer Bergman to provide development management advice for its Bradford Leisure Quarter. Broadway Bradford officially opened in November 2015, more than a decade after construction on the site first started. Work commenced in 2004 but halted in 2008 due to the global financial crisis. It includes over 70 shops, restaurants and a food court and 1,300 parking spaces. Key retailers include Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, Topshop, H&M and Superdry.

The Leisure Quarter is the second phase of Meyer Bergman’s development in Bradford. It will include a six screen cinema and restaurant offer directly adjacent to the Broadway Bradford. Cinema brand ‘The Light’ has already signed up to operate the new state-of-the-art cinema. The extension also includes four restaurants totalling 35,000ft² (3,251m²) of additional dining space.

Paul Sargent, CEO and co-founder of Queensberry Real Estate said: “This development management instruction is a great opportunity for us to continue our successful working relationship with Meyer Bergman and its partners. Broadway Bradford is one of the most exciting retail and leisure schemes currently under development in the UK and this instruction enables us to be involved in its development along with our other retail schemes, including Friars Walk in Newport, which also opened last year.”
