NCC has been commissioned by the municipal company FællesBo to refurbish 210 apartments in the Mindeparken residential area in Herning, Denmark. The project is a turnkey contract, and the order value is c. €31.15m.
NCC’s assignment includes the refurbishment and remodelling of six residential blocks built in 1956. The project involves replacing all technical installations to improve the indoor climate and eliminate damp and cold problems, and renovating bathrooms, kitchens, surface finishes and floors. A third of the residential units will also be remodelled and adapted for accessibility. In addition, NCC has been contracted to refurbish the neighbourhood’s common outdoor areas.
“The refurbishment of Mindeparken is part of a larger plan according to which FællesBo will refurbish nearly 2,000 of our residential units over the next few years. We are pleased and proud that we can carry out these major refurbishment projects, thereby providing many families with high-quality and attractive rental apartments – today and tomorrow,” said Peter Bøgebjerg Mortensen, CEO of FællesBo.
“Our excellent collaboration with FællesBo is now being expanded to include another project here in Herning. We are also cooperating on a project in the Porshoj area, where we are currently refurbishing 441 apartments. Good planning and project management are key to these two refurbishment projects, together with a team that has extensive experience of refurbishing public housing,” said Catarina Molén-Runnas, Head of NCC Building Nordics.
Work will commence in the third quarter of 2024 and is expected to be completed at the end of 2027.
