NCC secures €27m resi commission by Vores Bolig (DK)

Residential units in Frederiksvaerk in North Zealand, Denmark

NCC has been commissioned by Vores Bolig to refurbish 236 residential units in Frederiksvaerk in North Zealand, Denmark. The order value is c. €27m  and will be registered in the third quarter of 2023 in the NCC Building Nordics business area.

The residential neighbourhoods of Frederiksaerk, which were built in the late 1960s and early 1970s, are now being refurbished as part of the overall plan developed by the Danish National Building Fund to keep the wheels turning in conjunction with the Covid-19 pandemic.

This is a major project extending over two years and will thus require a great deal of logistical organization and temporary housing for many of our residents,” said Trine Feldstedt, chair of the tenant-owner association, and added: “At the same time, the board naturally expects continued constructive and close cooperation concerning planning and communication between NCC Building Nordics, the project management team at Domea byg, the supervisors involved, the building committee and the board of the area.”

In total, the assignment comprises 236 residential units of varying sizes and includes the renovation of roofs and facades and the replacement of windows and doors. In addition, new mechanical ventilation systems will be installed for bathrooms. Some of the apartments will also be adapted for people with accessibility needs.

We have extensive experience of refurbishing large portfolios. Some of the refurbishment will have to be conducted while residents are still living in their homes, so we are using solutions that will minimize inconvenience for them. For example, we are focusing on limiting heavy traffic in the area, avoiding the accumulation of waste and offering alternative shower and toilet solutions while the bathrooms are being renovated,” said Brian Hasfeldt, Area Manager at NCC Building Nordics’ refurbishment unit.
