Linkcity signs agreements with Notting Hill Housing Trust and Hounslow Council to bring €475.9m (£410m) development to life. Linkcity, the property development company, has signed agreements with its partners to kick start the creation of the development including new homes and a new civic building incorporating council offices, a library and café for Hounslow Council.

Following a three-way development agreement, Notting Hill Housing will develop the residential element of the scheme, built on the current civic centre site on Lampton Road, and Linkcity will develop the new civic building, built on a new site in Bath Road, in Hounslow town centre.

The residential element of the project will provide 919 new homes including affordable housing. There will be a mixture of studios, one, two and three-bedroom apartments and houses across 10 buildings varying between three and nine storeys.

The new offices will support modern and flexible working practices, with shared offices for council, police and health services in the heart of Hounslow. The new building has been designed with the community in mind, creating a welcoming, customer-focused environment.

Bouygues UK will act as main contractor for the office project with construction beginning this month. The relocation of the council offices to the new site will be completed in 2019. Bouygues UK will start construction of the first phase of the residential units in Lampton Road imminently.

The architect for the civic centre, library and café is Sheppard Robson; Allies and Morrison is the architect for the residential element.

Linkcity’s Managing Director, Nicolas Guérin, said: “The agreements signed formalise the ownership structure of this major new development, enabling work to start on a contemporary new civic building with a library and café, as well as 919 high-quality new homes. This significant project will create a modern, efficient and agile work space for the council, together with enhanced public spaces for the benefit of the local community. We look forward to continuing to work with our partners at Hounslow Council, Notting Hill Housing and the GLA to bring this scheme to life.”

Councillor Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council said: “The council has been working hard towards the delivery of much-needed new homes for some time and it is exciting that all agreements have now been finalised.  As an added bonus, the borough will also benefit from a fantastic community-focused civic building which will allow us to improve our services to residents and provide a modern working environment that will support more efficient ways of working, while also reducing costs by moving to a smaller, more efficient building.”

John Hughes, Group Development Director for Notting Hill Housing, said:“Delivering private and affordable new homes in a fantastic park-side location, this is an exciting and highly significant project. Working in close collaboration with Linkcity, Hounslow and the GLA to deliver our shared vision of a high-quality integrated community, we are confident this new landmark development will be a great success and we look forward to welcoming the first residents in two years’ time.”
