The auditing firm KPMG AG has signed a lease with CA Immo for over 12,000 m² of rental space, for a newly constructed office building in Berlin’s Europacity. The company will be the exclusive office tenant of the building. CA Immo’s investment amounts to around €58 mln, construction of the building is expected to begin in autumn 2015.
Bruno Ettenauer, CEO of CA Immo: “With KPMG, another top company has chosen Europacity, which has developed to be one of the most favoured office locations in Berlin. We still have a range of excellent premises in this area, which can be flexibly tailored to potential tenants. We therefore expect additional successful completions of contracts in the current year.”
KPMG is combining several of the company’s service departments at this location, including the company’s internal IT service and the finance department. The building, which was designed by KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten Berlin, is situated right next to the Tour Total on Heidestraße and not far from Berlin Central Station. The new seven-storey building will have a total of around 14,300 m² of gross floor space and three underground levels with parking. Construction of the building is expected to begin in autumn 2015 and KMPG is scheduled to move in at the end of 2017. Jones Lang LaSalle Berlin acted as agent and consultant.
Europacity is a new urban, mixed-use quarter, currently being built on an area of approximately 40 ha. As the principal owner of the land, CA Immo has promoted the development of the site in close cooperation with State of Berlin.
