The former Hotel Victoria in Satu Mare is to be refurbished, thanks to an investment of over €2.6m. The building is on the list of historical monuments in Satu Mare.
The design and execution contract was signed for the rehabilitation of the facades and roof of the building located on Horea street no. 6, respectively the building of the former Victoria Hotel.
The execution term being 30 months.
The former Victoria Hotel had 60 rooms and was inaugurated on December 16, 1910.
A restaurant and an opulent cafe were set up on the ground floor, where several balls and events were organized. Over the years, the building has had several owners and tenants, its purpose changing with them, functioning as a hospital during the First World War. After the Second World War it functioned as a report building, with certain rooms being repartitioned to create more social housing.
