Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), on behalf of its flagship fund, has received official communication of the Government's approval to start construction of the 763 MW Teruel Project, Maestrazgo Cluster. Located in the regions of El Maestrazgo and Gudar-Javalambre, the project is set to be the largest wind farm in Spain to date. The Teruel Project, Maestrazgo Cluster will generate a strong impact on the Spanish wind chain and will contribute to maintaining 3,547 full-time equivalent jobs.
The Teruel Project, Maestrazgo Cluster, which is expected to come into full operation in the third quarter of 2026, will produce around 1,986 GWh of electricity per year, the equivalent of the average consumption of 570,000 homes per year. The project will offset 320,000 tonnes of CO2eq emissions per year once it comes into operation, thus contributing to the national renewable energy generation targets set in the PNIEC-23 and to the acceleration of the energy transition and the decarbonisation of the national electricity system.
