In one of the largest lettings in the centre of the Welsh capital this year Cardiff University has taken three floors, totalling 29,000ft², at Topland Group’s 45,000ft², Friary House.
The University has taken a five year lease on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors and will use the space for a combination of administration offices and lecture rooms.
With Admiral occupying a further floor just 7,700ft² remains to be let in the building.
William Davies Director, Asset Management at Topland said: “This major letting, together with the significant new tenants secured at Capital Tower, justifies our ongoing investment in Cardiff. With over 60,000ft² let in the last 12 months across Friary House and Capital Tower we are continuing our major refurbishment programme and are already in advanced discussion with a number of new tenants.”
Mark Sutton, Partner at Knight Frank’s Cardiff office who is advising Topland added: “Friary House offers large open floor plates in a great city centre location and proved a good fit for the university. Alongside the headline developments in Cardiff we continue to see strong demand for Grade B and refurbished offices in the city centre.”
There are still opportunities for occupiers from 1,000ft² to 25,000ft² across Friary House and Capital Tower.
