The Standard Life Investments European Real Estate Club L.P II (Euro Club II), has leased 7,800 m² of office space in Hanse Forum in Hamburg to co-working and shared office space specialist, WeWork.
US-based WeWork has signed a lease at Hanse Forum, which will be its first Hamburg office location. The company operates worldwide – with offices in more than 140 locations including the US, Canada, United Kingdom, France and China.
Hanse Forum is in the centre of Hamburg, providing WeWork with an ideal location close to public transport. The office space includes fully flexible floor layouts, enabling WeWork to create a co-working environment that suits its customers’ needs.
Daniel McHugh, Head of Continental European Real Estate, Standard Life Investments, commented: “This letting demonstrates the quality and appeal of Hanse Forum as a prime location in central Hamburg. Securing prominent occupiers, such as WeWork, is very much part of our overall strategy to deliver strong returns through the active management of core, quality assets in Europe.”
Patrick Nelson, Executive Vice President, Real Estate, Head of Europe at WeWork, commented: "Hamburg is the cultural and business capital of Germany, and an important place for WeWork to be. We couldn't be more excited to open there this year, and expand our community of creators in Germany and around the world. We can't wait to see what new innovations and ideas come out of WeWork Hamburg. Our first location at 3 Axel-Springer-Platz is perfectly located in central Neustadt. We know our members will love the transport links, dining offerings, and cultural life in Neustadt. We're very happy to have Standard Life Investments as a partner in bringing WeWork to Hamburg."
LPA Rechtsanwälte advised Standard Life Investments; while NAI Apollo group and its partner Volckers & Cie acted for WeWork. Corpus Sireo is the lettings and property manager for Hanse Forum.
