Nido Living’s new residence in Madrid, Nido Plaza Castilla, is scheduled to open on January 4, 2025. This new residence represents a €28m investment, designed to meet the growing demand for quality accommodation in the capital. According to a JLL report, Madrid is the region in Spain with the highest number of enrolled students from outside the province, exceeding 100,000, and offers the largest number of residence spaces, accounting for 21% of the total across the country.
With Nido Plaza Castilla, Nido Living adds 177 beds in Madrid, reaching 1,980 beds across its five residences in Spain and solidifying its presence in the European market with a total of 5,167 beds. The strategic location of this new residence, close to educational institutions such as IE University, ESADE Business School, and Camilo Jose Cela University, will meet the housing needs of students in a well-connected, high-demand area. The building, covering 4,457m² across six floors, has study areas, coworking spaces, a Do Eat restaurant, social areas, and a rooftop terrace with a pool. Additionally, it provides 24-hour security and reception, high-speed Wi-Fi, laundry, and maintenance services to offer residents a comfortable and safe environment.
“Madrid offers the most opportunities for study across Spain and, therefore, receives the highest number of ERASMUS students and students from other cities in Spain. With its extensive educational and employment opportunities, the capital welcomes thousands of young people each year, creating a growing need for accommodation to meet this demand,” said Darren Gardner, COO of Nido Living. “This is why we have chosen Spain once again, given its significant growth potential, to continue providing solutions for young people.”
