Neinor Homes will play a key role in regenerating a former industrial area in the municipality of Mungia (Basque Country, Spain) which is currently undergoing urbanisation and residential development. Mungia Homes, construction of which is expected to start in April, will consist of 4 blocks of free-market housing, developed in two phases, with 61 and 76 homes respectively. This significant urban development aims to revitalise the municipality's industrial area, addressing the need for new housing and enabling the creation of 280 new homes, 137 of which will bear the Neinor Homes brand, featuring green spaces and recreational areas.
In this regard, Mungia Homes is a new example of Neinor Homes' active role in urban regeneration processes, transforming disused industrial land into modern, sustainable environments. Additionally, it will contribute to the environmental improvement of the municipality through the remediation of potentially contaminated soils.
The homes at Mungia Homes, with 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms, will come with fully fitted kitchens and spacious terraces. The development will also feature an adult pool, a children's pool, play areas, and tree-lined green spaces, all contributing to the well-being of its residents. These services represent an added value compared to existing homes in the town centre, providing an exclusive environment with outdoor spaces within the residential complex.
The construction is expected to be completed within 22 months for the first phase and 24 months for the second. The total investment for both phases of the development exceeds €35m.
The municipality of Mungia, located just 16 km from Bilbao in the Mungialdea region (Basque Country in Spain), enjoys excellent motorway connections, making it easy to access both the city and the coast. The town offers a wide range of educational, cultural, and service facilities, making it an ideal place to live in a peaceful, natural setting without sacrificing the comforts of the city.
Inigo Ibarra, Northern Regional Director of Neinor Homes, stated: "This project highlights the importance of redeveloping outdated land, transforming former disused industrial areas into new residential spaces. It also provides us with the opportunity to create homes in strategic locations adjacent to well-established urban centres, offering high-quality housing solutions in well-connected areas with all the necessary services."
