NCC has been commissioned by the housing development company KONstruct to build 235 rental apartments for students and a cafe on Goteborg Alle in Aarhus, Denmark. The order value is approximately €33.2m (SEK 340m).
The apartments will be built to be shared by several tenants in order to keep rental costs for students down. The majority of the apartments will be under 75m², with separate bedrooms and a shared kitchen and living room. Construction start is scheduled for September 1, 2018, and the apartments are expected to be finished during the summer of 2020.
“We are extremely pleased with this agreement, in which we will be building for the growing group of students moving to Aarhus to live and study,” says Nicolai Schultz, Department Manager at NCC Building in Denmark.
“Developing this project together with a competent collaborating partner who knows the best methods for project design has been crucial for us,” says Ole Vistisen, CEO of KONstruct. The contract is a milestone for KONstruct, since the deal is the company’s largest development project so far.
