Leroy Merlin – the French home improvement and DIY retail chain - will launch its distribution centre near Stryków where a build-to-suit industrial scheme with 53,000 m² of leasable space will be developed.
It will be the company's second distribution centre in this location.
Michał Szkudlarek, Supply Chain Director at Leroy Merlin, comments:
“The decision to establish a new industrial scheme is in answer to Leroy Merlin's development on the Polish market. This new logistics centre, from which we will provide services for all of our 48 stores in Poland, will be built in Stryków. Thanks to this investment we will be able to further optimise our supply chain. Furthermore, our customers will have even quicker and more effective access to Leroy Merlin products. We would like to thank representatives of JLL for their professional support as well as help in negotiating attractive lease terms.”
Experts from international advisory company JLL represented Leroy Merlin in the process of selecting the developer, location and negotiation of lease terms.
Tomasz Mika, Head of Industrial Poland, JLL, adds:
“We are delighted that we could cooperate with such a renowned client as Leroy Merlin. The lease agreement for 53,000 m² is the biggest new deal signed on the industrial market in Poland this year. The central location of Stryków enabling convenient distribution of products throughout the country, access to transport infrastructure – A1 and A2 motorways – the close proximity of Leroy Merlin's existing warehouse and attractive lease terms were the key factors in the decision process”.
Leroy Merlin already has one warehouse scheme in Stryków providing 56,000 m² of space. The combination of these two warehouses will allow the company to establish its Polish logistics hub in the Łódź area.
