International Campus GmbH (IC) will be launching Germany's tenth THE FIZZ scheme in August 2021. The development located at Habsburger Straße 132 in Freiburg im Breisgau will offer 344 student apartments. It is the brand's second building in the popular southern German university city, alongside THE FIZZ Zahringen with 149 apartments. Modern flats with high-quality furnishings, measuring between 18 and 58m², are taking shape in two parts of the building on a gross floor area of around 15,000m². 12 of these apartments benefit from reduced rental prices. With the seven-storey development at the edge of the block, IC is closing one of the last vacant lots in this central location. The division of the façade into several sections and the striking roof shape allow the building to blend in harmoniously with its surroundings. The four-storey atrium building on the inside of the block complements the selection of room types to meet the different requirements of the students.
“We want to expand further with THE FIZZ, especially in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. Even during the pandemic, our student apartment buildings are experiencing strong demand and we are confident that as the vaccination rate increases, the general situation for students will also return to normal", said Michael Stapf, Chief Investment Officer at IC.
All apartments at THE FIZZ feature a private bathroom, a modern kitchenette and internet. Students can enjoy an active housing community led by the house managers, as well as many common areas for cooking, studying, playing and relaxing, along with a range of other services. Over 70 parking spaces are available to tenants in the underground car park, and there is space for up to 350 bicycles in a roofed outdoor area. Thanks to the central location, Freiburg University, various shopping facilities and Munsterplatz are only a stone's throw away. The central station is within walking distance.
