International Campus AG is expanding in Hamburg and continuing its growth path. International Campus acquired three properties in central Hamburg where four modern apartment buildings with more than 1,300 apartments are to be built for students and young professionals. The newly acquired properties have a combined size of 10,600m² and are located at Holstenwall, Rödingsmarkt and Adenauer Allee / Steindamm. They are part of the HASPA portfolio, which was acquired in 2014 by a joint venture between the Becken Group in Hamburg and Castlelake. The total investment volume is more than €200m.

Horst Lieder, CEO of International Campus AG, commented: “With this acquisition, we are continuing with our expansion in the fast-growing major city of Hamburg as planned and at a fast rate. The acquired properties are in highly attractive city-centre locations, have excellent public transport connections and are ideal for our target group of students and young professionals. We are already in initial discussions with the Hamburg-Mitte district authorities regarding possible usage concepts for the properties.”

HSH Nordbank financed the acquisition of the three properties. Nexus Capital Advisors acted as consultants for the real estate transaction between Becken Holding and International Campus. As the head architecture office, Magnus Kaminiarz & Cie is responsible for the urban development surveys and property planning for the new THE FIZZ locations in Hamburg, as was the case for THE FIZZ residences in Berlin, Frankfurt and Darmstadt.
