International Campus Group is to complete the acquisition of the two-part apartment scheme with its 700 apartments and separate entranceways for its residential formats, HAVENS LIVING and THE FIZZ. At the same time, the building is going live, and being fully operational. The site as a whole has an area of 29,000m2 above ground. The building is LEED Gold certified.
Located at Wendenstrasse 14-16 / Sachsenstrasse 13, this property in Hamburg features around 700 apartments, commercial units, ample parking, and extensive community areas, including roof terraces and lounges.
“We’re glad we managed to open the Wendenquartier development on schedule. Just like Germany’s other Big 7 cities, Hamburg has an enormous need for residential accommodation, both on the regular housing market and on the housing market for the student and expat community,” explained Gawain Smart, CEO of International Campus Group. “In response to the situation, we decided to open a multi-brand location in Hamburg. Every apartment added helps to ease the strain on the housing market of this business metropolis. The fact that apartment lettings got off to a good start demonstrates how strong demand for our concepts is in Hamburg. I’d like to seize the opportunity to thank Grundkontor Projekt Gruppe and particularly Romeo Uhlmann for the productive collaboration within the framework of this project.”
Benjamin Albrecht, Director of Development at International Campus, added: “With this project, we created a centrally located residential building that is both sustainable and fit for the future. The engaging architecture designed by the GFB Alvarez & Schepers architectural firm took pains to turn the community areas into genuine highlights for our tenants. Particularly the generous roof terraces, which let you relax and have barbecues while enjoying a great view across Hamburg, is something truly special for such a downtown location.”
