INREV has announced the appointment of Lisette van Doorn-Gröniger (32) as Chief Executive Officer. Lisette will join INREV in July 2005, and succeeds Judy Hill, who will officially step down at the end of April 2005.
Lisette joins INREV as the organisation secures its 150th member and prepares to host its inaugural conference in Budapest. The conference will take place between 20 â" 22 April and over 300 attendees are excepted.
In her new role, Lisette will be responsible for driving INREVâs key strategic and organisational goals, namely to generate sustainable membership growth and diversity, oversee new product development and continue to improve the professionalism and transparency of the non-listed real estate vehicle sector accross Europe. In addition, she will run INREVâs day-to-day management functions and support the working committees, as well as managing relationships with new and existing members, related organisations (such as EPRA, PREA and APUT) and suppliers.
Lisette is currently Managing Director of the Research and Strategy department of ING Real Estate Investment Management in Europe, where she is responsible for all the research activities of the team. She previously worked for ING Investment Management in the Mutual Funds Team. Lisette is already an active member of INREV, and serves as co-chairman of INREVâs Research Committee. In 2004, she led INREVâs research project into âinvestment stylesâ, which was the first attempt to define the parameters that determine a vehicleâs style.
The latest and 150th organisation to join INREV is IVG, the major German listed company, whose fund management arm, Oppenheim Immobilien KAG, manages open and closed-ended funds for institutional and private investors respectively. INREV has demonstrated considerable growth over the last year: it passed the 100-member milestone exactly a year ago, in April 2004.
Membership now comprises leading institutional investors, fund managers and promoters and advisors from across Europe and the United States. In addition to IVG, other recent new members include Hermes Property Asset Management, Citigroup Property Investors, Pillar Property, HSBC, Colony Capital and Swiss-based investor BLPK.
Commenting, Michiel Olland, Chairman of INREV, said:
âWe are delighted to welcome Lisette to INREV. She is joining us at a time of steady growth in non-listed property investment vehicles across Europe and when the importance of unity and regulation of this significant sector is everincreasing. Lisetteâs extensive experience in the fields of strategy, research and management has already proved invaluable during her chairmanship of INREVâs research committee and we are confident that she will lead INREV on to continued success and innovation as she employs her talents more widely to support the ongoing growth of the organisation.â
