Heijmans takes over Siegers Elektro in Turnhout, Belgium

Heijmans N.V. (construction, property development and related activities) expects to reach consensus on the takeover of Siegers Elektro N.V. in Turnhout, Belgium. The takeover shall be paid in cash.

Siegers Elektro is a specialised electro-technical contractor with clients in Flanders, primarily in the province of Antwerp. The company concentrates primarily on the government, office buildings and industry and has a very good reputation in the region. The activities include the assembly of entire electro-technical installations and cabling for fire and anti-theft security and laying data cables. In addition, Siegers Elektro is specialised in laying high-voltage installations and the company has a 24 hour emergency service. Siegers Elektro’s retail activities will not be acquired.

Turnover for 2002 will be approximately EUR 7.5 million, more than 60% originates from a permanent customer base, approximately half of which originates from permanent framework agreements. The company has 90 employees, and its result is around Heijmans’ average.

The planned acquisition is part of Heijmans’ strategy to reinforce its position on the Belgian market. Siegers Elektro’s activities complements those of Van den Berg, as a result of which the services offered are expanded, the position in the private sector is strengthened and the possibility of performing combined works is created.
