Goodman Group, a global owner, developer and manager of industrial real estate, has partnered with construction and development company GiesberGroep, to develop a new 61,700m² European distribution centre (EDC) for logistics service provider Nabuurs Supply Chain Solutions. The pre-lease deal is one of the largest logistics real estate projects signed in the Netherlands over the past 12 months. The new facility will be located at the Park15 Logistics Parc in the Arnhem-Nijmegen region in the Netherlands. Construction will start next month and is expected to be completed in early 2017.
Nabuurs will use the new facility as a ‘Shared Service Centre’ to service multipe customers, with the majority of the distribution centre servicing Kraft-Heinz and SCA. The ‘grade A’ facility will provide 60,266m² of warehousing space, 3,000m² of which will be temperature controlled. In addition, there will be 1,435m² for offices, social spaces and technical rooms. It will also feature LED motion sensor lighting to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
“The new distribution centre being provided by Goodman and Giesbers will enable us to expand our business in a strategic location and better serve a key customer,” said Ard Nabuurs, Commercial Director, Nabuurs Supply Chain Solutions. “Furthermore, the technical solution provided by Goodman will allow us to increase our operational efficiency by lowering our energy costs and optimizing our logistic streams and transport.”
