GARBE Industrial Real Estate Netherlands B.V.. is developing a new 32,562m2 grade-A distribution facility at the De Vaart Business Park in Almere, after purchasing a strategically located land plot of 44,200m2. This is GARBE’s second development in Almere this year following the commencement of a built-to-suit facility and head office for Dutch smart energy solutions supplier Alfen N.V. in January.

Our edge in the market relies on the design flexibility of what we develop. Here, for example, we are building a distribution centre which can be used by multiple tenants and ensure a sustainable approach for the entire life cycle of the asset.”
The sustainable development comprises one building with 32,562m2 of GLA including office and mezzanine space, along with 288 parking spaces with EV charging points. The development is targeting a BREEAM Excellent Certification and a minimal A+++ energy label with solar panels and the use of a circular steel construction. This steel uses circular connectors instead of welded joints, allowing them to be detached and reused ensuring lower carbon emissions in the development’s overall value chain. The contractor for the development is Groothuis B.V. from Genemuiden. Construction has now started, and delivery is scheduled for August 2024.
Almere is located about 30km from Amsterdam and ranks as the fourth-largest logistics hotspot in the Netherlands. The De Vaart Business Park is Almere’s largest with good access to major motorways including the A6 and A27 and Amsterdam is only 25 minutes away by road.
