The EU15 external current account recorded a deficit of 1.6 billion euro in the second quarter of 2002, as compared with a deficit of 5.2 billion euro in the second quarter of 2001 and a deficit of 1.5 billion euro in the first quarter of 2002.
In the second quarter of 2002 the EU15 external balance of trade in services recorded a surplus of 4.1 billion euro as compared with a surplus of 6.0 billion euro in the second quarter of 2001 and a deficit of 2.9 billion euro in the first quarter of 2002.
