ECE is developing a further state-of-the-art logistics centre for the logistics service provider Hermes Germany in Ketzin/Havel in the Berlin metropolitan area, being ECE’s third groundbreaking for a Hermes logistics centre this year.
The distribution centre with the latest high-performance sorting systems will comprise a logistics space of 10,000m² and offices, technical facilities, and social areas in a second, adjacent building totaling 2,900m². Completion is scheduled for fall 2017.
The total investment volume amounts to approximately €53m. From the initial planning and the acquisition of the site to the turnkey handover, the entire project will be managed by ECE, headquartered in Hamburg.
Several logistics centers for Hermes have already been developed by ECE or are still under construction: two similar logistics centres in Bad Rappenau and an under-construction property in Mainz-Hechtsheim. Another logistics centre in the Westphalian city of Löhne. Moreover, ECE also constructed the Hermes Distribution-HUB in Friedewald (Hesse) and the Hermes North-HUB in the Hannover district of Langenhagen.
