The design by KSP Engel und Zimmermann Architekten AG of the Zeil Project in Frankfurt has been approved by MAB. The design reflects the redevelopment of a multi-functional city district on the former premises of the Telekom Areal on the river Zeil in Frankfurt.
The spacious and functional design, to include the partial reconstruction of the Thurn and Taxis palace, offers an excellent urban platform and provides ideal opportunities to integrate the project in the Zeil-area. Although the design by KSP Engel und Zimmermann Architekten finally won MABÂ's approval, MAB insists that several other architects must be involved during the further development of the project.
Until the end of March 2003 the plan will be reviewed and further developped. Building permissions will be sought in the middle of next year and it is expected that construction will start during 2004. Delivery of the Zeil Project, which will include high-quality living, shopping, working and leasure activities, is expected in 2006.
