Crosslane develops student accommodation for acquisition both by investment funds managed by the Crosslane Group as well as by third parties. Crosslane also has the unique benefit of having its own established pan-European lettings and operational platform, called Prime Student Living, to manage completed developments, which helps Crosslane take a longer-term approach to developing student accommodation properties, ensuring its buildings continue to remain of high quality and relevant long into the future.

Crosslane has established a proven track record of successfully acquiring, developing, investing in and managing high quality, purpose-built, conveniently located student accommodation property across Europe, completing over 3,100 beds since 2008. Crosslane has a substantial UK development pipeline of over 2,200 beds and a growing development pipeline in Continental Europe. Prime Student Living currently operates 15 student accommodation properties, managing 2,987 rooms in 12 major university cities throughout the UK and Germany including Birmingham, Bristol, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Lancaster, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle, as well as Osnabruck and Oldenburg in Germany.

Crosslane continues to strengthen its existing presence and operations in the Netherlands and today announces the appointment of Lee Pors (27) as Researcher/Project Developer. Lee will undertake in-depth market analysis, provide transaction support and will be responsible for advising on all elements of the purchase, development and leasing of student housing developments in the Netherlands for Crosslane. Previously, he worked in the real estate portfolio management division at the Central Government Real Estate Company in The Hague and as project developer at Houwvast Project Development.

Lee will support Olaf Henschen (Managing Director) and Tom Wilmot (Acquisitions and Development Manager), along with the rest of the team based at the Company’s office in Amsterdam. Tom was responsible for Crosslane’s entry into the Netherlands and Olaf was appointed Managing Director in December 2014, joining from VB Group, where he was head of the commercial portfolio team. At Crosslane, Olaf and the team continue to establish and expand the Company’s student accommodation portfolio in the Netherlands.

Olaf Henschen, Managing Director, Crosslane Dutch Developments, commented: “Crosslane was an early mover in the European student accommodation market and this month will announce its first two student accommodation developments after investing into a secured and growing pipeline of student accommodation opportunities across key cities in the Netherlands, which have large, growing student populations. Crosslane is targeting the development of a portfolio of 2,500 beds within five years, which will help ease the significant shortage of modern, purpose-built student accommodation.

“Crosslane is an established developer of student accommodation in Europe and through our operational platform, Prime Student Living, we also have an enviable track record of successfully letting and managing a portfolio of over 3,000 operational beds. Building on this successful track record, as well as our existing local knowledge and operations, Crosslane is ideally placed to expand its portfolio and is currently exploring investment opportunities in select cities in the Netherlands and across Europe.

“Since establishing a presence in the Netherlands over one year ago, we have been laying the groundwork and gearing up to capitalise on the exciting pipeline of investment opportunities in the Dutch market. I am delighted to welcome Lee to our growing team at Crosslane Dutch Developments as we expand our student accommodation portfolio in the Netherlands.”
