Arcadis announces results for third quarter and first nine months 2002

ARCADIS realized an increase of 7% in net income from operations in the third quarter of 2002 to EUR 5.6 million, despite the impact of exchange rates of the U.S., Brazilian and Chilean currencies which was negative to the amount of 6%.

The acquisition in France contributed to profits for the first time. Operating income rose by 12%. Gross revenue of EUR 198.3 million was at almost the same level as last year, also due to exchange rate developments.

In the first nine months of 2002, net income from operations rose 8%. Excluding exchange rate effects, net income from operations rose 11%. The operational margin (operating income as a percentage of net revenue) rose to 6.9% in the nine-month period, compared to 6.3% in 2001.
