Work to start on Warsaw outlet center (PL)

A tender process is currently underway to find a general contractor to build Fashion House Warsaw, a themed shopping center based on the ‘outlet’ concept of discounted branded products. It will be the third such development from The Outlet Company (TOC), a subsidiary of the Belgian developer Liebrecht & wooD.

Fashion House Sosnowiec (southern Poland) opened in February 2004 and Fashion House Gda sk (northern Poland) is due to open in July of this year. Construction work is set to begin following the result of the tender process, with Fashion House Warsaw opening in November 2005.

The center will be located in the town of Piaseczno, on the southern outskirts of the capital. Its style will mimic the architecture of Warsaw’s old town, and will include 80 shops plus cafeterias and restaurants in 12,000 m² of commercial area. A car park will provide 1,200 parking spaces.

A second phase will begin 18 months after the opening.of the center, or earlier should interest remain buoyant, and will bring the total developed space to 23,900 m².
