Not very good for our economy and settlement climate in the Netherlands. These are the conclusions of VNO-NCW, the largest Dutch employers’ organization, in response to the publication of the third Planologische Kernbeslissing (PKB – Basic Spatial Planning Decision).
VNO-NCW considers that insufficient attention has been paid to the economy. Also the surroundings where people live will come under pressure due to the lack of possibilities to combine construction, green and water.
VNO-NCW fears that the proposed strategy – including its procedures – is too bureaucratic, too expensive, too time consuming, inflexible and only supply oriented. The financial paragraph is not even included in the proposition, or an explanation as how to finance the strategy.
