VIVID, one of the UK’s largest housing associations, has completed its 10,000th new home, marking a major milestone in its mission to deliver affordable housing across southern England. The landmark unit, part of the sustainable Stoneham Park development in Eastleigh, now houses Ashley Shields and her family, symbolising the human impact behind every home delivered.
Since its establishment in 2017, VIVID has helped provide homes for around 23,000 people, with over 80% of its new homes falling under affordable tenures. This latest delivery underscores a long-term commitment to addressing the UK housing crisis while creating well-connected, energy-efficient communities.
“We've recently moved in and have settled in really well. The area is lovely, the kids are happy, and we already feel at home. Being part of VIVID’s 10,000th home milestone is a real bonus. It’s great to feel like we’re part of a growing community,” said Ashley Shields.
Located within the vibrant Stoneham Park neighbourhood, the 1,100-home masterplan includes amenities such as a school, care home, nursery, and community centre. Prioritising walkability, green space, and solar-powered infrastructure, the scheme showcases a model for placemaking with sustainability at its core—an aspect increasingly vital for developers responding to both investor expectations and net-zero regulation.
“Since our founding in 2017, we've had a clear goal to build more affordable homes to positively impact more people. The completion of our 10,000th new home in those 8 years marks a significant milestone in that journey. And we’re far from finished. Backed by the recent Spending Review, we’re set to ramp up even further our new homes programme, doing all we can to address the housing crisis,” said Mark Perry, Chief Executive of VIVID.
With plans to deliver 1,600 additional homes in the next 12 months and a growing pipeline of modern, sustainable developments, VIVID continues to scale impact while maintaining focus on affordability and quality. The milestone further positions VIVID among England’s most active developers, currently ranked sixth among housing associations by build volume.
